You completed a massive, advanced design studio project. Take a moment and congratulate yourselves!
Each member of your team must now turn in the final team assessment form. We will use these forms to account for any team dynamics issues in our final grading.
Since each milestone grade was a simple yes/no, this final submission is where we are grading your work summatively. We will look at individual folders for the pieces of the project. If your project pivoted after a milestone was turned in, summarize the revised direction for each milestone in this final deliverable.
In addition, please prepare a short (~45-second) video of someone using the interface so that we have content for our records. It does not need to be carefully edited. If you made a video for your presentation, and it shows off the interface in detail, that is sufficient.
Pull everything together into your submission folder labeled "P3-7". Please include:
Category | Unsatisfactory | Adequate | Good | Excellent |
---|---|---|---|---|
Design insight 8pt |
2: Ideas are only marginally appropriate to the domain, barely articulate design goals, or barely address the given needs. | 4: The designs address user needs in ways that are surface-level interpretations of the problem space. Design goals are trivial or not well-connected to the idea. | 6: Ideas address user needs in generally appropriate ways, but are uneven in their depth. Some may be incremental, have questionable design goals, or are surface-level interpretations of the problem space. | 8: Ideas present nontrivial and insightful interpretations of the design space, grounded in well-articulated design goals. |
Prototype + visual design 8pt |
2: Prototype is barely functional or has little attention to interaction design . | 4: Prototype is missing key functionality or has significant interaction flaws. | 6: Prototype is generally well-executed, but is missing some relatively important elements or has minor to moderate interaction errors. | 8: Prototype succesfully executes on its goals and has strong interaction design. |
User feedback 7pt |
1: User feedback is minimal or testing wrong aspects of prototype. | 3: Feedback has been executed competently but only marginally tests the important aspects of the idea. | 5: Studies draw out basic strengths and weaknesses of the prototype and approach, but may focus mainly on surface-level issues. | 7: Studies are executed well and deliver deep insight into the idea and the prototype. |
If any of the deliverables are missing, we will reduce your score by 25% per deliverable.
